Training Seminar Project areas should work with their regional HIV/STD and family planning training centers annually to identify performance improvement and training needs related to STD services.

This section provides guidelines for programs interested in providing training and performance improvement support for staff on issues related to the design and delivery of STD-related infertility prevention programs.

TRAINING 3, DHHS Region III Family Planning

Since 1981, TRAINING 3 has served as the DHHS Region III Family Planning Training Center. Located in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and one of ten such national training centers, TRAINING 3's primary charge has been to help ensure that family planning staff and programs throughout Region III have the knowledge, skills, and attitudes necessary to deliver effective, quality family planning services. Over the years TRAINING 3 has evolved into a comprehensive performance improvement center, identifying and responding to the job performance-related needs of a variety of family planning, health care, and social service programs. This is achieved nationally and throughout Region III by designing, delivering, and evaluating the most effective training and other performance improvement interventions such as those described throughout this web site.

An excellent resource for public health personnel and practitioners in primary health care, family medicine, emergency medicine, and other specialties in the optimal management of patients with sexually transmitted diseases (STDs) and their partners. Individual PDF (portable document format) files can be downloaded from the left menu so that you can create your own copy of The Practitioner's Handbook.
